Kinetic Pilates Instructor Training Program
Fall 2026
The Kinetic Pilates Instructor Training program is designed to prepare confident, knowledgeable, and inspiring instructors who are ready to teach classes clients love while meeting the unique needs of every individual.
In this training you will develop a strong foundation in Pilates exercises, movement mechanics, anatomy, exercise science, cueing, and class design.
What to Expect

Learn about Joseph Pilates and the beginning of the “Contrology” movement. Discover how Pilates has evolved and be able to distinguish between different styles of Pilates.

Understand the six original principles of Pilates (breath, concentration, center, control, precision, flow) as well as the six Kinetic Movement Principles based on longevity and living well (breath, function, strength, stability, versatility, connection).

Learn the anatomy and mechanics needed to understand the intention behind exercises and movement patterns to be able to program effective classes. Memorize major muscles and their actions in order to build balanced workouts. Understand exercise science principles for building strength and mobility.

Learn 40 classical Mat Pilates exercises and various contemporary variations/additions including cues, modification, and amplifications. Practice sequencing exercises for class flow. Learn how to utilize Mat exercises on the Reformer.

Understand the pieces of the reformer and how to adjust each element. Learn lower body exercises, focusing on muscle groups of the legs and pelvis.

Learn core exercises focused on stability and muscle groups of the pelvis, abdominals, and spine. Discuss how these muscle groups work together to create and stabilize what we call the “core.” Understand spine actions and planes of motion.

Learn upper body exercises focused on muscle groups of the arm and shoulder complex. Discuss importance of shoulder stability and movement patterns of the shoulder.

Learn compound exercises focused on full body integration and functional movement patterns. Discuss the difference between building strength in a muscle vs building capacity in a movement pattern and the benefits of each.

Learn how to use the jumpboard and exercises to use on the jumpboard. Understand the Kinetic Pilates and Fitness Cardio class format and the purpose of interval and plyometric training.

Learn exercises using the infinity bar of the reformer. Understand how to utilize different positions of the infinity bar to work specific muscle groups. Learn how to sequence a class flow using the infinity bar.

Learn how to use the reformer and props for deep stretches and mobility exercises. Understand the Kinetic Pilates and Fitness Mobility class format and the purpose of mobility training in a wellness routine.

Learn how to use the Pilates chair springs and how to execute exercises. Discuss how to incorporate the chair into mixed equipment classes and private sessions.

Learn about common injuries and their contraindications as well as how to modify for them in a private and group setting. Understand basic pregnancy modifications for exercises and how to modify classes when pregnant clients attend.

Practice using props in a class flow and understand how to add props to an exercise with intention. Discuss intentionality in class plans and workshop how to incorporate props (ring, ball, weights, bands.)

Discuss best practices for class planning/programming as well as teaching techniques. Prepare to lead a room confidently and become a sought-after instructor that gets results.

Discuss best practices and procedures for teaching private clients. Learn how to do an assessment and train to see movement compensations and variability. Practice creating plans customized to an individual’s needs.

Receive a free 50 class package to attend 50 classes and take notes of experience as a participant as well as helpful cues or other things you notice the instructor did well or could have done differently.

Access to the studio for 50 hours of practice teaching. Bring friends or family to practice your cueing and build confidence in your instructor voice.

Access to observe 20 classes and take notes on how participants react to teaching. Notice what teaching practices are successful and what could be done to improve the class experience.

Get feedback and help workshopping 10 class plans so you leave training with strong pre-programmed classes you can teach confidently right away.

Attend group review sessions with our master trainer to ask any questions, review exercises, get quizzed, practice teaching, or get help planning classes.

Schedule time with the master trainer, customized to any needs you have. Ask questions, get help planning classes, do a practice teaching hour with in the moment feedback, etc.

Receive a training manual with mat, reformer, and chair exercises explained in detail with photos, key notes, modifications, amplifications, and variations.
Receive Pilates Anatomy textbook for additional reference and anatomy training.

Our master trainer is here to mentor you throughout the training. You will receive a lot of individual feedback so you are fully prepared and confident to begin teaching after the training.
The Kinetic training includes access to 50 free classes and 50 hours of studio rental time to practice teaching. Along with an amazing community of instructors to shadow and observe.
Not only will you learn traditional Pilates exercises and principles, but you will know how to include strength training principles to give your clients results in stability and strength.
